Also, my recent writings at Mindplex.
Greetings to all readers and subscribers, and special greetings to the paid subscribers!
Please scroll down for the main topic of this newsletter. But first:
In the last few weeks I’ve been working with the good folks at Mindlpex. I wish to thank them for a warm welcome. Setting up my workflow for this new gig up has been time consuming and I haven’t had the time to post here for… more than one month? Oh my God! I promise to post here more frequently.
Mindplex is part of the SingularityNet ecosystem led by the one and only Ben Goertzel.
I’m mostly writing short news posts. I try to find and summarize the really important science and technology news with a focus on fundamental science and space, cybernetics and AI, IT, VR, bio/nano, crypto technologies. At this moment all recent items in the News section of Mindplex Magazine are mine.
Besides short news, I write longer feature articles. Here are some recent ones:
Science and technology under Trump: what can we expect?
Donald Trump will be the next President of the USA. What can we expect from his administration for science and technology?
Could the return of Philip Rosedale spark a renaissance of Second Life?
Philip Rosedale, the legendary founder of the VR world Second Life, has returned as Chief Technology Officer. What could come next?
Should Media Endorse Political Candidates?
Some media and even scientific media take partisan political positions, and this results in a loss of credibility and public trust.
NASA and SpaceX must continue to work together for the common good
NASA and SpaceX must continue to work together on the Artemis program for a permanent and sustainable return to the Moon.
Starship’s reentry sonic boom in a political storm
The epic achievement of SpaceX in a political storm centered on Elon Musk's cultural and political positions.
The Terasem Colloquium on December 14, 2024, 10am to 1pm ET via Zoom, will explore recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyberconsciousness, with a focus on the big picture implications.
December 14 is the anniversary of the last day astronauts have been on the Moon. Apollo 17 astronauts Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt launched back to Earth from the Moon on December 14, 1972.
Videos of previous Terasem Colloquia and commentaries.
You are invited to come, listen, and ask questions. Mark your calendar!
Speakers: William Sims Bainbridge, Lincoln Cannon, Robert Geraci, Beth Singler, Weaver D.R. Weinbaum. See this page for information about the speakers.
A related issue of Terasem’s “Journal of Personal Cyberconsciousness” (Vol. 12, Issue 2 - 2024) will be published in December.
We have great plans for the Journal. We’ll relaunch it as a reputable high-impact journal with an Advisory and Editorial Committee, a light form of peer review, and a new website.
Great post
Lots of good links and updates and history
